It has been more than 40 years since Richard Philp started dealing in Fine Art & Antiques. Founding a gallery in Notting Hill in 1966, he developed his business over the years into an international success. Richard has worked hard to discover new areas of dealing as the markets change, and has shifted focus from time to time amongst his many specialist periods.
Those who have known him throughout the years will think of him first as an expert in Early Renaissance Portraits. He established this area of dealing before anyone else. When the market soared in this area, and prices became inflated, he shifted to Old Master drawings, and, then again, has more recently changed his focus to Medieval sculpture.
