Western Greek
A pair of Archaic hollow terracotta female busts
6th century BC
Heights: 10" and 8.5"
(Stock no 8186)

Ancient Greek and Etruscan terracotta statues shared very similar forms and stylisation of facial features. These hollow figures must come from an Etruscan-influenced Greek workshop. The elongation of the figures and the sweetness of the Arcaic smile suggest they are most likely to be Greek in origin.
