Serving table with two drawers
c. 1680
Oak and walnut
78.7 x 160 x 59.7 cm
(stock no 8321)
The table is made from walnut and oak, woods used for the finer examples of furniture, while fruitwoods and chestnut were used for the more provincial designs. The wood used in this table has not been over-cleaned, the result – a warm, faded patina.
The walnut stretchers are all original, an unusual feature as often at least one or two stretchers have been replaced.
