An Interior of a Woman at a Spinet/Harpsichord
Oil on Canvas
43 in x 53 in

This portrait shows a woman playing the spinet. The bentside spinet shares most of its characteristics with the full-size harpsichord. What primarily distinguishes the spinet is the angle of its strings: whereas in a harpsichord, the strings are at a severe angle to the keyboard and, but here, they are only gentle turned away from the keyboard.
